For nearly a century, Doylestown Health has served Doylestown and the surrounding communities with high quality, compassionate healthcare. The first Doylestown Hospital was founded in 1923 by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (VIA), which continues to oversee governance of what is now a nationally recognized, multi-facility health system serving thousands of people across Bucks and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, and Hunterdon and Mercer counties in New Jersey.
Today, Doylestown Health is a comprehensive care network, strengthened and empowered by philanthropy and a commitment to remaining independent in order to better serve the evolving needs of our community. Doylestown Health has been recognized across the board on the national and regional levels, ranking in Newsweek’s annual list of World’s Best Hospitals (2023) and as one of the best hospitals in Pennsylvania by U.S. News & World Report (2022-2023). Additional accolades in clinical excellence and patient safety, cancer, heart and vascular care, nephrology, orthopedics, and pulmonary care demonstrate Doylestown Health’s unique position as an award-winning community health system providing services most often found in urban hospitals—all from what started as an eight-bed maternity and emergency ward in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
