The 33rd Annual Doylestown Health Foundation Golf Classic was held on Monday, June 3, at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The Golf Classic and Silent Auction raised nearly $128,000 for Interventional Radiology at Doylestown Hospital and the Teen Volunteer Scholarship Program. The event was sponsored by 41 businesses and individual donors, and 46 additional contributors who donated auction items and raffle prizes.

Congratulations to the 2024 Teen Volunteer Award Recipient!
Since 2015, a portion of the Golf Classic proceeds have supported the Teen Volunteer Scholarship fund, which honors a teen volunteer at Doylestown Hospital who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the volunteer program and is a true leader among their peers.
The 2024 Exemplary Teen Volunteer Scholarship was awarded to Harshil Jain, a student of North Penn High School who contributed over 332 hours to Doylestown Hospital’s Patient Transport, MRI, same-day surgery, and Well Bean Café. Harshil will attend the University of Pennsylvania on the pre-med track.
Harshil Jain, in his scholarship essay, writes:
For most of my life, I valued logic over anything. Through my volunteer experience at Doylestown Hospital, I saw that humanitarian workers make significant sacrifices, and their work may be more emotional than logical at times, but the result is still wonderful.
Whether it was in transport, the waiting area, MRI, or the Well Bean Café, volunteering at the hospital allowed me to interact with many diverse people for the first time, many in extreme stress. I experienced the interactions in these situations between the physicians, nurses, and patients, which showed me the power of compassion and kindness. While doctors must be logical, they also must have empathy. And that’s what I hope to do—use both love and science.
