In mid-August, natural signs silently tell us that change is approaching. Days will begin to get incrementally shorter and nights will become slightly cooler. As we continue to approach our centennial year in 2023 and realize new milestones of ONE VISION: The Campaign for Doylestown Health, we recognize the transitional power of the seasons.
Part of this transition occurs close to home. We warmly welcome Marianne Chabot, our new Chair of the Boards of Doylestown Hospital and Doylestown Health Foundation. We look forward to her wisdom and leadership as we approach our second century of care. We thank our former Chair of the Boards, Joan Parlee, who served in the role from 2016 to 2022. An annual Chairman’s Award has been named in honor of Joan’s service and will recognize an Associate of Doylestown Health who demonstrates outstanding character, dedication, leadership, and service in support of our mission.
We are grateful for the tremendous generosity of The Asplundh Foundation, who recently awarded a $100,000 grant designated for Children’s Village. Construction has begun to rebuild the early childhood education center in its original location on the Doylestown Hospital campus. Next month, we will celebrate another campaign milestone: the opening of the Morel Family Foundation Center for Prenatal Care in a new and expanded location on the ground floor of Doylestown Hospital, just off the Art Walk. Morel Prenatal Care will offer advanced technology for diagnostic testing, privacy, and comfort for expecting mothers.
