The first half of 2022 has gone by with incredible progress. At the end of this month, we will close our fiscal year—one marked by accelerated momentum in giving and realizing plans rooted in philanthropy, all thanks to your generosity, and that of so many others like you.
The impact of philanthropy on Doylestown Health is measured not in dollars, but in lives touched, saved, and reshaped through sophisticated and compassionate healthcare. It is someone’s grandfather reaching new milestones thanks to cardiac rehab following a successful surgery in the Woodall Center for Heart and Vascular Care. It is a wife and mother returning for her first preventive mammogram in five years because of the new and expanded Clark Center for Breast Imaging. With every patient, every caregiver…your gift touches someone directly.
We were so glad to be able to celebrate some of those caregivers at our second annual Nursing Scholarship Award Ceremony last month, and honored to receive the support of Marvin and Dee Ann Woodall through their $25,000 challenge match. With their generosity and donations at the Nurses Field Day event, more than $40,000 was raised for the Nursing Scholarship Program, which supports nurses seeking advanced degrees.

This month we held the 31st Annual Golf Classic at Jericho National Golf Club. It is one of our most successful and impactful fundraising events, as well as one of our favorite opportunities to connect with new and longstanding donors. This year was a record-breaking one: we welcomed more than 150 golfers, and proceeds from the event totaled over $145,000 in support of the One Vision Campaign and the Teen Volunteer Scholarship fund. You can read more about the Golf Classic here.
In terms of direct impact, the Teen Volunteer Scholarship is a leading example. The scholarship is awarded to a teen volunteer at Doylestown Hospital who donates the greatest number of hours and demonstrates exceptional commitment to the volunteer program. This year, the award was given to Ananya Siragavarapu, a student at Central Bucks High School South entering the accelerated bachelor of science-doctor of medicine (B.S./M.D.) program at the University of South Florida in the fall. Through donor support, Doylestown Health is proud to help a future physician at the very cusp of her medical education. Once again, philanthropy makes its profound and far-reaching impact in our community.
There are countless stories of generosity being inspired by excellent care. A few weeks ago, a grateful patient offered a $10,000 matching gift to the Medical Staff Giving Campaign in gratitude for the care they received at the hands of our outstanding clinical experts. Their gift will inspire others to invest in Doylestown Health, which in turn means someone else’s life is touched…and they, too, will make a gift in gratitude. The cycle of philanthropy is what drives our mission forward. Members of Doylestown Health’s Medical Staff can support the Medical Staff Giving Campaign—and have your gift matched—on our website.
In the months to come, your support is more important than ever. Making a gift today or accelerating your pledge payments helps Doylestown Health keep the momentum going, allowing continued investment in programs already established through philanthropic support. As we close in on our Centennial in 2023, and our $100 million goal, we are committed to reaching ever higher as we provide the very best care to our community.
Thank you for your generous support.
