Planning for Good
As the founder of Marshall Financial Group, Bill Marshall has been a trusted financial advisor to clients throughout Bucks County for over 40 years. To Bill, the complexities of financial planning are “similar to healthcare in that there are so many options and it’s important to choose wisely.”
A combination of Doylestown Health’s longstanding reputation of investing in the community and Bill’s own personal patient experiences led him to become more involved in the hospital. “I’ve always believed in local businesses,” Bill notes. “We happen to have an amazing hospital here. It’s an incredible resource for our community and we need to make sure we keep it.”
Bill’s confidence in Doylestown Health is based on a number of factors, most importantly “the leadership and the people at Doylestown Health. They are excellent at what they do, and they also have a genuine concern for people who rely on them.” When it was time for a bilateral knee replacement, “there was no question I would go to Doylestown Health,” says Bill. “I had top-notch care and when I was in the hospital, I just couldn’t believe how caring and attentive the nurses were. I felt like I had to be their only patient,” he recalls.
When considering his own retirement planning, he knew his financial and philanthropic goals could easily align to benefit an organization close to his heart and where he invests a great deal of volunteer time as a member of the Doylestown Health Foundation Board of Directors.
According to Bill, “I’ve been successful in my career and I’m able to give back.” By designating Doylestown Health as the beneficiary of a yearly Individual Retirement Account (IRA) distribution, Bill and his wife Pat established a lead gift towards the One Vision campaign, ensuring that “we will have the best hospital around for years to come.”
Bill continues to devote his time and talent to Doylestown Health, where he continues to witness “the great work they do here. The leadership of and the people of Doylestown Health are first rate,” Bill notes. “I can’t do what they do so it’s important for me to support their work. That’s my commitment.”
