DOYLESTOWN, PA – More than 130 golfers took to the links at Jericho National Golf Club for the 33rd Annual Doylestown Health Foundation Golf Classic held each year on the first Monday in June.
The event, held on Monday, June 3 in New Hope, Pennsylvania, was sponsored by 41 businesses and individuals, and 46 additional contributors who donated auction items and raffle prizes. Doylestown Health Foundation is grateful to its partners in philanthropy who help make this event a success. The lead supporters were Title Sponsor Burns Mechanical, Event Sponsors John S. McManus Inc. and The Norwood Company, Driving Range Sponsor SEI Investments Company, and Locker Room Sponsor The Minford Foundation.
This year’s Golf Classic proceeds will support the critically needed expansion of Interventional Radiology (IR) at Doylestown Hospital. In addition, a portion will also be contributed to the Teen Volunteer Scholarship fund, which honors a teen volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the volunteer program and is a true leader among their peers. The 2024 Exemplary Teen Volunteer Scholarship was awarded to Harshil Jain, a North Penn High School student who contributed 332 volunteer hours to Doylestown Hospital’s Patient Transport, MRI, Same Day Surgery, and Well Bean Café. Harshil will be attending the University of Pennsylvania on the pre-med track.
“We want to thank everyone who had a hand in helping to make this much anticipated annual event such a profound success,” said Jim Brexler, President and Chief Executive Officer of Doylestown Health. “This event brings local businesses, donors, and friends of Doylestown Health together for camaraderie, but most importantly, to invest in critical hospital needs, programs, and services; as well as support the continued success of amazing teen volunteers like Harshil,” Brexler added.
Established in 1991, the Golf Classic has raised nearly $2 million cumulatively in support of multiple services and programs at Doylestown Health, including the Cancer Institute, critical care medicine, the Emergency Department, MRI services, the Wound Care Center, and the VIA Maternity Center.
