Celebrating Our Donors and Welcoming a New Chapter
Reception hosted at the River House at Odette’s in New Hope, PA on September 2, 2026.
We were delighted to gather with many of our most generous supporters at this year’s Special Recognition Reception, an evening dedicated to celebrating the people whose philanthropy makes exceptional care possible throughout our community. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Delaware River at the River House at Odette’s in New Hope, the evening was filled with meaningful conversations, gratitude, and a shared commitment to the future of Penn Medicine Doylestown Health. Together, we welcomed our new Chief Executive Officer, Craig Gronczewski, MD, MBA, FACHE and celebrated the enduring spirit that has defined Doylestown Hospital for more than a century.
Barbara Ann Price, Chair of the Boards and a member of the Village Improvement Association (VIA) of Doylestown, opened the evening by thanking our donors for their steadfast support and welcoming Dr. Gronczewski on behalf of our Boards of Directors.
We were also honored to hear from Kevin B. Mahoney, Chief Executive Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, who introduced Dr. Gronczewski and reflected on the significance of this leadership transition. Kevin shared that a hospital appoints a new chief executive only a handful of times in its history, making this an important moment for our organization and community. He spoke about Craig’s leadership style, describing him as someone who listens, asks thoughtful questions, and builds trust through both significant milestones and everyday interactions. Kevin also reaffirmed Penn Medicine’s commitment to ensuring that the care our community has long trusted will continue to grow stronger and more accessible with the support of one of the nation’s leading academic health systems.
In his remarks, Craig thanked Kevin and Barbara Ann for their warm welcome and recognized former Doylestown Hospital CEO Rich Reif, who presented him with a copy of Through Their Eyes: A Story of Doylestown Hospital on his first day. The gesture served as a meaningful reminder of the remarkable history and traditions that continue to shape our organization. Most importantly, Craig expressed his gratitude to our donors and acknowledged the vital role philanthropy plays in advancing our mission. “The future of Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is extraordinarily bright,” he shared. “We have the strength of an organization that has served this community for more than a century, the capabilities of one of the nation’s leading academic health systems, and the support of donors like you.”
As we look ahead, we remain deeply grateful for the partnership of our donors. Your generosity helps us invest in innovation, expand access to care, and ensure that exceptional healthcare remains close to home for the communities we serve. Thank you for helping shape the future of Penn Medicine Doylestown Health.
